我的话岂不像火，又像能打碎磐石的大锤吗？这是耶和华说的。

耶和华是审判我们的，
耶和华为我们设立律法；
耶和华是我们的君王，
他必拯救我们。

上帝的话语是有能力的。如果你不允许它来修复你，它最终会成为毁灭你的审判。圣经是不容怠慢的，因为它关乎生死。与上帝交通并敬拜祂，有助于我们更容易接受祂的修复，不至于在祂指明我们的罪的时候反抗祂。毕竟，当别人指出我们的错的时候，我们不也常常反抗对方吗？我们会变得苦毒，坚信对方不只是错了，也许还疯了。但是当我们读上帝的话语的时候，它从来都不可能是错的。

受到上帝话语的指摘，是个棘手的状况：一方面我们可以获得真正的自由；但是另一方面，拒绝它就等于拒绝真理。所以要预先下定决心，以成熟的态度甘心情愿地接受上帝的话语改变我们，而不是毁灭我们。

The word of God is powerful – if you don’t allow it to mend you, it will, in the end, be the judgment that destroys you. It’s not a book to be taken lightly – it’s life and death. Spending time with God and worshipping Him helps us to be mendable instead of rebelling against God once confronted with our sin. After all, isn't that what we do when someone tells us we're wrong? We get bitter and become convinced that the other person is wrong and perhaps insane. But when we read God's Word, it is never wrong.

Being confronted with truth is tricky business because on the one hand is true freedom, but on the other hand, rejecting it will result in us rejecting the truth. Determine ahead of time to be mature enough to be willing to be changed by it instead of destroyed by it.
