什么是恩典？人没有权力向上帝要求什么，也没有资格跟上帝交换什么，但上帝仍然愿意给我们，这就是恩典。什么是信心？信心是一种谦卑的「接受」。因为恩典不是靠交换得来的，而是靠接受得来的。

信心也是一种超越现况的眼光。亚伯拉罕能成为信心之父，是因为他在没有盼望的时候，仍然存着盼望来相信，因此上帝「算他为义」。

世人都面对与亚伯拉罕相同的景况。每个人所经历的一切，都与上帝的应许相反：祂应许永生，我们却被死亡和腐朽所包围；祂宣称要算我们为义，我们却依旧满身罪污；祂定言会以宽容和恩慈待我们，我们却时常看见祂愤怒的审判。那么，我们该怎么办？

我们应该学习亚伯拉罕，对临到我们身上的一切黑暗完全不加以理会，不让任何事物阻碍我们对上帝应许的盼望，「在没有盼望的时候，仍然存着盼望来相信」，这就是信心。

What is grace? We don't have the right to demand anything from God, nor do we have the qualification to exchange anything with God. However, God is still willing to give us. That is grace. 

What is faith? Faith is a humble "acceptance". Because grace is not obtained through exchange, but through acceptance.

Faith is also a perspective that transcends current circumstances. Abraham became the father of faith because even in times of hopelessness, he kept hoping through believing and therefore God "counted him as righteous".

All people face the same situation as Abraham. Everything we experience is contrary to God's promises: He promises eternal life, but we are surrounded by death and decay; He proclaims that He will count us as righteous, but we are still full of sin and dirt; He declares that He will treat us with kindness and mercy, but we often see His angry judgment. So what should we do?

We should learn from Abraham and completely disregard all the darkness that comes upon us, not letting anything hinder our hope in God's promises. Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping through believing - this is faith.
