Day 11 - Romans 11

In God, there is no such thing as 'negative thinking'.

How did Paul talk about his fellow Israelites? Throughout his life, the major persecutions he encountered mostly came from his own people. Paul had a thousand reasons to curse his own people because they had slandered him, defamed him, imprisoned him, beaten him, and caused him great distress. But Paul still did not give up on his own people and firmly believed that "God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew" and "The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."

Paul said, "because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles...to make Israel envious." Also, his mission to preach the gospel among the Gentiles was to "make my own people jealous and save some of them." Jealousy is negative, but Paul could find a positive and active purpose in negative jealousy.

Many times when we encounter "negative situations", we tend to react with "negative thinking", but true saints who love God would not. "If their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?" Whether people treat us well or not, we should respond with "positive thinking".
